Do you have the passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with complex needs?
A huge well done to the team at Dyers Mews, who scooped the Care Team Award at the Great British Care Award Regional finals for the second year running. Team Dyers was shortlisted as finalists for two other categories – with Patience Mukosa named a finalist for the Manager award, and Jay named finalist for the newcomer award.
The award entry for the team award read:
“The team are seen putting the needs of the people they support before theirs which is amazing and demonstrates that the team is dedicated. I have witnessed the people we support flourish due to the outstanding support which they receive from the Dyers Mews team. The Team at Dyers supports people to meet their personal goals. We have witnessed some of the people we support developing some independent living skills and now being able to carry out day-to-day tasks with minimum support from staff or independently. Some of the people we support are now able to travel in the community on their own due to the effective support the team have been offering them.”
“We have had a lot of positive outcomes in the people we support. One of the people we support came to the service being supported on 3:1 basis, then moved to 2:1, and now supported 1:1. The person we support was supported to get a job where he goes unescorted for 30hrs a week. This was as a result of consistency and positive support provided by the team. The person we support will be moving from residential to supported iving in soon and has developed a lot of confidence and self esteem. The team has also supported other young people to go to college and to meet with other people of their age.”
